Apple Betty

From the Kitchen of Gaynell Dodge of Big Sandy, Tennessee

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 Lbs. Apples, Sliced (or 1 Lb. Can Pie Apples)

  • 1/2 Cup Orange Juice

  • 1 Cup Sugar

  • 3/4 Cup Flour

  • 1 Tsp. Cinnamon

  • Dash of Salt

  • 1/2 Cup Butter

INSTRUCTIONS

     Preheat oven to 375ºF. Mound apples in bottom of buttered pie plate. Sprinkle orange juice over top of apples. Combine sugar, flour, cinnamon, and salt together. Cut butter into dry ingredients until mixture is crumbly. Sprinkle over apples. Bake for 45 minutes. Serves 16.
