Applie Pie Filling Canned

From the Kitchen of Gaynell Dodge of Big Sandy, Tennessee

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 1/2 Cups Sugar

  • 1 Cup Cornstarch

  • 2 Tsp. Cinnamon

  • 1/4 Tsp. Nutmeg

  • 1 Tsp. Salt

  • 10 Cups Water

  • 3 Tbsp. Lemon Juice

  • 7 Quarts Apples, Peeled, Cored, and Sliced

INSTRUCTIONS

Fill clean jars to the brim with apple slices. In a pot, combine all other ingredients, except for the lemon juice. Cook until mixture is thick and bubbling. Add lemon juice to the cooked mixture, stir to combine, and pour over the apples into the jars. Put on the lids and process in a hot water bath for 20 minutes.
