Sugar Cookies

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 Cup Butter

  • 1½ Cups Powdered Sugar

  • 1 Egg, Beaten

  • 1 Tsp. Vanilla Extract

  • ½ Tsp. Almond Extract

  • 2½ Cups All-Purpose Flour

  • 1 Tsp. Cream of Tartar

  • 1 Tsp. Baking Soda

INSTRUCTIONS

Preheat oven to 350ºF. In a large bowl, cream the butter and powdered sugar together. Add the beaten egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract to the mixture. In another bowl, sift together the our, cream of tartar, and baking soda together. Then add the dry our mixture to the butter mixture a little at a time. Place dough in the refridgerator to chill for 3-4 hours. Sprinkle our over the surface you plan to roll the dough out on, as well as on the rolling pin and cookie cutters. Roll dough out to desired thickness and cut the cookies out. Bake until cookies are lightly browned. Decorate cookies with icing and sprinkles as desired.
